Do locksmiths charge a call-out fee?
Most locksmiths charge either a separate call-out fee plus a labour rate, or a single all-in price for the job. ASG Locksmith confirms the price with you on the phone before we set off, so there's no surprise when we arrive.
How the pricing usually works
The two common models are (1) a call-out fee that covers arrival and diagnosis, then a separate labour and parts charge, or (2) an all-in fixed price for standard jobs like a lockout, a Euro cylinder swap or a mortice lock replacement. Both are legitimate — what matters is that you know before the locksmith turns up.

We confirm the price for the likely job before we set off. If we get there and the job is actually simpler than described, you pay less. If it's more complex (for example, the door needs a full multi-point mechanism rather than just a cylinder), we explain the new price before doing the extra work, not after.
Watch out for
Suspiciously cheap headline prices from national call-centre sites — those are almost always call-out only, and the on-site quote is much higher. If a price sounds too low to be real, it probably is.
